Today is the 6th anniversary of my return to the workforce and one I never expected to happen. People tell me I am strong and have worked hard to be where I am now - in truth it is those around me who have allowed me to survive.
From those who worked at the sadly defunct G.A.P. where I was a trustee, to the company I work for and the management team who believe in me, to my wonderful fiancee who took a massive risk when she said 'Yes' she would go for a drink with that weirdo in a wheelchair - I want to say thank you.
It is the help, support, and love of others that I manged to rebuild my shattered life and turn it into an (almost) functional existence.
My wedding is coming in the near-future and I still find it hard that Claire said "Yes" to me for the second time.
Friends and care workers have helped me a huge amount and their contribution to my life can never be underestimated.
Thanks so much from this would-be famous writer :)
