Today is the 6th anniversary of my return to the workforce and one I never expected to happen. People tell me I am strong and have worked hard to be where I am now - in truth it is those around me who have allowed me to survive.
From those who worked at the sadly defunct G.A.P. where I was a trustee, to the company I work for and the management team who believe in me, to my wonderful fiancee who took a massive risk when she said 'Yes' she would go for a drink with that weirdo in a wheelchair - I want to say thank you.
It is the help, support, and love of others that I manged to rebuild my shattered life and turn it into an (almost) functional existence.
My wedding is coming in the near-future and I still find it hard that Claire said "Yes" to me for the second time.
Friends and care workers have helped me a huge amount and their contribution to my life can never be underestimated.
Thanks so much from this would-be famous writer :)
The short answer to why I have been so quiet is I have been so quiet is I have been ill. The longer answer is I have been having a hard time with more than the cold which makes me sneeze about 800 times a second lol
I have Multiple Sclerosis. For those that don't know it is a degenerative condition where the body's own immune system attacks your won nerves. I'll probably do a longer blog about it at some point but the tl;dr is it gets in the way.
I am updating both this site and my book company's site at Esskaye Books as quickly as I can!
I have also managed to get some writing done. I have been bouncing between the four work-in-progress novels I have but have decided to concentrate efforts on the second part of'The Blue Jackets' (tentatively named 'The Echo Committee' and I have to say writing this full-length novel is so much fun :)
This second this second part delves more into the characters and what it is like to be differently-abled in extremely bigoted society, a topic that is touched on in 'The Blue Jackets' but very lightly.
My question for you is what sort of ability would you like to see in the next book? Do you want to fly with the Novus heroes? Would you prefer super-strength? Psychic abilities? A totally different power?
Leave a comment and the one I like the most will appear in the book. So get typing your answer in the comments section...
'Olverston Grange ...and Other Stories' which collects my stories has been published with two covers. Simple question... which do you prefer? Let me know below :)
I want, no - NEED, to say thanks to everyone who shared my link after my re-launch yesterday. In all honestly I thought the site would gather dust at the back of some internet shelf. Your help in spreading the word is gratefully received :)
I added the first links to the Stuff page - a very amusing podcast - The Do Dads. Well worth a listen, both for the dad jokes and the bragging rights that you were there from the first episode!
Don't forget if you are an independent creator or brand you can contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org to promote here FREE!
I'm going across to Esskaye Books now to work on the site now and give it a bit of a polish - wish me luck lol
And don't forget I would love to speak to you all - leave a comment and let me know about yourself and your favourite writers, musician, anything really
I look forward to hearing from you :)
This website is finally back up and running!
Dedicated to everything that is important to me, focusing mainly on the independent scene, including artists, musicians, and mainly writers.
Things are fairly sparse at the moment but things will grow - faster if you get involved!
So tell me... what do you want to see here? Leave a comment below.
