M. Leon Smith is a writer, editor, and publisher from Newcastle, in North-East England. He started writing in 2009 following his admission to a Neurological Rehab Unit, after a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.

He used writing as a way to deal with the effects of M.S. and the disability it left behind. The negative effects were mobility issues. leading to the need to use a wheelchair fulltime, and sensory loss in both of his hands, necessitating the need to relearn how to type.
His journey in independent small press publishing began after his second submission, 'Scared', was selected to be printed. Since then, M. Leon Smith has had over fifty short stories and articles published and became intrigued with the behind-the-scenes aspects of the publishing industry. He started in a very small way (fixing the forum board for Static Movement, a now-defunct publishing house) and moving to larger projects.
Dark, horrific stories have been M. Leon Smith's passion since he read Stephen King's 'Salems Lot' at the age of ten. The majority of his work falls into this category, though he explores his fascination with Hardboiled and Crime fiction through his co-editing of Dead Guns Press. This, in turn. led to his final step of entering into the world of publishing.
