My mental state let me down and I found myself in a dark place. Black dog day as a much greater man than me described it. Nothing was achieved in that time. No words were written, no housework was done. But I'm back! ...and apparently I bought an iPad to cheer myself up. LOL!
It would be remiss of me to know mention the Olympic opening ceremony. I watched the whole of it despite only planning to dip in and out of it. I was very cynical beforehand and the first twenty or thirty minutes did not to dispel that. The Industrial Revolution described through interpretive dance. Ummmm... no thanks!
But then it got good. Very very very good! I was blown away by the scale and intricacy of the design. The dark section about children's literature was amazing. Mike Oldfield playing over the top was an inspired choice. The music was another tremendous set of choices.
The cauldron at the finale was beautiful, unique and more surprisingly - worked!
I'll probably not watch much of the Olympics - I'm waiting for the Paralympics but I have installed aps on my iPad to follow it in some small way.
Right! Time for some exciting save-you-some-money news!
