I made a post and a couple of status updates on Facebook with regards to my first self-published book being finished. I had written and re-written everything, commissioned a cover and made the final checks. I termed each story 'locked down'.
I was very happy with how things were going. Then a moved the manuscript to my Kindle (other eBook readers are available) and did my final checks. On my Kindle I spotted 1 or 2 minor edits.
Well... I say 1 or 2, what I mean is 270-odd in the first 51%...
Each edit is very minor and I could probably get away with not making them but the cumulative effect of making all the changes makes for a better, more professional read.
As such my deadline is slipping. I originally set the end of June as my deadline with a two week contingency. I am one day away from the end of the contingency period and with no end in sight.
I'm still aiming for a July release but it's going to be a late July release. At least it's stopped raining for a bit. I think I'll use my new door and sit in the garden and log more edits on my Kindle.
